Review ｜ GAZUA Beer Garage ★★★★★
GAZUA Beer Garage, overlooking Walking Street, was a curious find. I remember the staff beckoned me from their bay windows to come up. At first I couldn’t figure out how to enter, as their entrance isn’t actually on Walking Street. It’s located on a small road north of walking street, where there is a door leading to some steps up. These steps are a little steep and can be quite treacherous when trying to navigate drunk. I witnessed more than one very inebriated Filipinas almost taking headers down the stairs.
There’s a lot to love at GAZUA. Prices at the bar are really fair, especially since it’s on Walking Street. Expect the typical selection of Filipino beer and alcohol. They have food on the menu as well, so if you’re feeling peckish there is some bar food to nosh on. They have free karaoke that rotates from table to table. The staff is really nice as well. Overall the best part of the bar is the welcoming and jovial atmosphere. I stopped into this place every night I was in town, and bar none a single drink turned into a half dozen. Expect to see a lot of characters coming and going, from ladyboys, to working girls, to former military expats, to just regular tourists.
Fair Warning
Do be advised, this is not a place you go to pick up women. There are plenty of other bars on Walking Street for that. This is a really fun place to go when you’re in a small group, however even if you’re alone you’ll feel welcomed here.
It’s a bit surprising that the bar doesn’t’ have more of an online presence. People in the known are aware of the bar, but it does seem to be one of Walking Street’s best kept secrets. The bar can be packed at peek times, meaning you might be turned away.

Solid information for GAZUA Beer Garage is a little hard to come by as they don’t have a strong online presence. A little surprising since the place is owned by an American. At the very least they should have Facebook page. The owner(s) need to get on this.
