Review | Fresh-Lan Zhou La Mien

Fresh-Lan Zhou La Mien, or Lan Zhou La Mien, (not sure which one is correct) is a great find in Manila’s Chinatown. Hands down, they have the best dumplings I ate in the Philippines. My only regret here is that I didn’t order more.

This is a full menu to choose from here, and I did try a number of dishes with my friend. What I read before hand was they specialized in la mien, hence the name. The portions on everything we revived were huge, enough to feed 4 or 5 hungry people. I honestly didn’t like the la mien that much, so most of it was packed up and take home by my friend. I did like the fried rice, and the dumplings here are a stand out and warrant a visit just for them. If you only eat one place in Chinatown, make it this one.

They also have a very nice selection of teas to try, both hot and iced. I had a passion fruit iced tea with real passion fruit in the drink.

Just a heads up regarding the name. There is another restaurant in the Manila Chinatown area with 3 branches called Lan Zhouu La Mien. From what I can tell, it has no connection with this restaurant. I haven’t tried the other one, so I can’t speak to its quality.
