Review ｜ Joe 10’s Coffee ★★★★★
Joe 10’s Coffee is a cafe with a lot of unrealized potential. Not to sound overly-critical, but the owner seemed quite apathetic toward running the place.
From the outside, the cafe looks like it’s a lot of fun. That’s not to say the inside isn’t well decorated. It’s furnished with super comfy sofa like seats. It’s really a great place to sit after riding around on a motorbike all day.
The issue really starts when you order. Most of the menu is not available. Honestly, this is a common problem in most places around the Philippines. There was no food on hand, which was disappointing. I was really hoping to get a piece of cake or cook for my coffee.
On that topic, the coffee was ok. I would say average, but in the case of Laoag, that means above average. It would have been better, however, if I were served my coffee in a proper cup, rather than a take-away paper cup, which made the experience feel unwelcoming more so.
It’s no wonder why the cafe was totally empty while I was there, and I spent a good thirty minutes there nursing my coffee and surfing the web. With a little more on offer from the menu and a bit more of a sociable feeling from the owner, this place could be an awesome cafe to hangout in. I hope that happens.
On a final note; one thing that is nice is that Joe 10’s Coffee is close to some of the bus stations, making it a good place to get some caffeine before you depart.
