Review: Hashem ★★★★★
You would think the way some people talk about Hashem that it’s the second coming. Don’t get me wrong, there isn’t anything inherently bad about the place. It’s cheap, filling, great location, and opened 24 hours. The staff speaks English, which is helpful. If you’re looking for something that’s going to blow your mind, I’m afraid you’re out of luck.
Again, there is nothing wrong with the food. I had falafel (as that what was recommend to me), hummus, and some breads. They were all good, but not the best I had in the Middle East. Everything felt so average. Maybe my expectations were too high as the person I went with really talked it up. Maybe I’m just not a falafel guy.
I think if you’re looking for a quick bite to eat in the city center with in a no hassle situation, this is your place. This place checks all the boxes. If you’re looking for something that’s going to blow your doors off, I don’t think you’re going to find it here.
I do think it’s a great place to hit up after seeing sunset at the Citadel. While I did think it was far too average, I would drop by again and eat here. Average is better than below average and certainly I’ve eaten in places much worse through out the Middle East.
