Review | Big Bad Thai ★★★★★
Big Bad Thai is a Thai restaurant smack in the middle of El Nido town. I really love Thai food and I’ve been to Thai food joints in quite a few places across The Philippines and they have always left me disappointed. The spices and taste have never been quite right. Finally I can say that this place is as close to authentic as you will probably get in The Philippines. This might be because it’s run by a real Thai woman named Apple.
As mentioned, the food has a very authentic Thai taste, right down to all the condiments you would expect when eating Thai food to bring out the flavors; spicy, sweet, sour, nutty, and so on. Mango smoothies, spring rolls, pad thai, yellow curry, they were well prepared and very delicious.
They are very popular and do fill up at dinner time, so either make a reservation or be prepared to wait for a while.
Try to get a table at the back side on the deck to have a view of the bay. You can’t see the sunset in that direction, but the view is still pretty nice.
