Review | Shopping Malls in Manila ★★

Like shopping malls and being around the buzz of commerce? Throw a rock in the air in Manila, you’ll hit a shopping mall. Seriously! You can walk through a shopping mall, come out on the other side, and find an entirely different shopping mall on the other side of the street. I’d heard stores, but I just couldn’t believe how many malls there are in the Philippines, especially in Manila. Any way you slice, Filipinos love to shop and they love going to shopping malls.

The biggest question is; is it worth your limited travel time to explore the seemingly endless shopping malls dotted all over the Manila cityscape?

In all fairness, that is really up to you. In my humble opinion, the Philippines is not a great shopping destination. It ranks near the bottom of my list for Eastern Asia. I also feel that the foods and products you will find in most every mall will be the generic, mass produced garbage you can find in the rest of the industrialized world.

All that said, it’s always nice to pop into a supermarket to find souvenirs and unique foods to try.

If you’re looking for the swankiest, most high fashion place to shop in Manila, then head for Bonifacio Global City. Bonifacio High Street is shopping on top of more shopping.
