Review | Museo Ning Angeles ★★★

The Museo Ning Angeles, located about 5km south of Walking Street, was a surprise find for me. I hadn’t seen an information on line about this museum, and just sort of stumbled into it when I was in the area. The museum is tiny, but it makes for a welcomed retreat from the sun blasted stone sidewalk in the area. This is also a great sight to include in a trip down to the Holy Rosary Parish Church, which is located directly in front of the Museo Ning Angeles.

The museum occupies the city’s former town hall, which was constructed in 1922 and used until 1998. The objects in Museo Ning Angeles are dedicated to the history of Angeles and the former Clark Air Base. One corner of the museum is dedicated to Japanese kamikaze fighter pilots. For those that don’t know, Angeles City has the dark honor of have the first kamikaze air strip.

There is a video room with a very poor quality film about the 1991 eruption of Mount Pinatubo. It looked like a fascinating short movie about the tragic event, however the audio is so difficult to hear that I just gave up. The picture quality is also nothing to jump up and down about as well.

Fun fact; there is a golden statue of José Abad Santos in the courtyard out front, which is what attracted me to the immediate area at first.

Expect to spend about fifteen to twenty minutes here.
