Hotel Review | The Mariam Hotel ★★★★★
We had a pleasant enough stay at the Mariam Hotel. Nothing stood out as being particular bad or good. In fact, years later as I write this I can’t remember much of anything about the hotel. It was that average of a stay.
The hotel is located on the north end of town, just about a 15 minute walk from the major tourist draws. There are a number of hotels right in the center of town, but the Mariam was priced a bit more agreeable. If you don’t have any issues walking a little, it’s worth the savings.
Generally speaking, everything was clean and the staff was nice enough. There are a few amenities at the hotel (like a swimming pool, shisha bar, and restaurant) but we never used any of them.
We did, however, arrange our airport pick-up through the hotel. No hitches or issues doing that. As soon as we exited the airport our drive was there waiting. There is also the added bonus of not dealing with the insane traffic you’ll hit driving into Amman from the airport.
The pick-up was just under $20, so for two people it was well worth it.
A double room was a little under $50 back in 2017. We booked directly with the hotel, as they claim you can’t book through a 3rd party sites. This does not seem to be the case, as I found them listed on booking.com.
