Review | Arquiza Street Pares ★★★★★
Arquiza Street Pares & Mami; typical Filipino street food or something more?
We stumbled upon this place by chance after exploring Intramuros and the Rizal Park area. We skipped lunch and were just looking for a quick snack to tide us over til dinner. We saw Arquiza down a side street and decided to give it a try.
As we approached we were greeted by Rebeca, who I think is the owner. She was so friendly and warm. She walked us through what was on offer and we sat down.
This is a street food place, so all the seat is outside. No air conditioning, of course, but some shade. A few local kids came by begging, but they disappeared quickly when they realized weren’t going to be easy marks.
Within minutes we had steaming bowls of mami in front of us and it was nothing short of amazing. Don’t misjudge this humble eatery for it’s rough looks or you might miss out on eating some of the best food in Manila.
