Review ｜ Leigh’s Cakeshop ★★★★★
Leigh’s Cakeshop was a nice find in Laoag. It’s not something I went looking for or knew about before hand. It’s just something I stumbled into when I went to the District One Superclub.
The cakes in the display window looked amazing and they were advertising a mango smoothie, so I deiced to take a chance. One of the best choice I made in Laoag. While the shopped is staffed with a half dozen, what looked to be high school aged girls who seemed to care little about working, they brought their a-game to my smoothie. Thick, creamy, and packed with mango flavor. It was so good that inquired about their coffee smoothies, to confirm if they used real coffee or not, and the next day I did a rare return visit, which was just as satisfy. Not sure if this is a place I would go to get real food, but I wouldn’t hesitate on coffee, cakes, or anything sweet.
The shop has indoor and outdoor seating, thought I saw few people eat there. Seems more like a bakery in that people were coming in to pick up custom cakes they had bought.
Like everything in the Philippines, finding reliable information online is damn near impossible. As I was researching this post, Google maps gave a different address and Facebook page for this business gave me another address, neither are for the location I visited. Now, there might be more than one branch or they might have moved several times. I know for sure that I went to the shop in the same building as the District One Superclub.
As for the hours, take those with a grain of salt as well. I was there well after sunset, so I want to say they are opened to at least 9pm, maybe even later.
