Review | Onlypans Taqueria

Onlypans Taqueria is a back-ally Mexican joint hidden in Makati. Cooking up authentic tacos, it’s quite a novelty in this part of the world, and doing a top tier job. This place is the real deal, surprisingly, and for those in the know, the word is out. Onlypans has a lot of online buzz and the reputation seems to be building.

What I really liked about Onlypans Taqueria is that the taste and quality of the food is amazing. Fairly sure that everything is made in house, and with a lot of passion and care towards the final product. This alone makes the place a great find. I also loved the easy going nature of the place. No one seemed stressed. The kitchen is opened, so you can see your food being made after you order it. Service is pretty fast as well.

On the downside, food is expensive here, especially by Manila standards. Portions are also small, so considering the price it’s kind of like double damage. There also isn’t a lot of space to dine in, so if they’re busy you might have to wait or do take-out.

I’d love to see an improved menu in the future. By that, I mean a menu that clearly indicates the quantity and size of the food. The English translation is also a little wonky in places as well. It would also be nice to see a few more Mexican drinks on the menu, like watermelon juice. That seems like it could be very possible in the Philippines.

Considering all that, I would still eat here again in a heartbeat. The food is that damn good! Honestly, Onlypans Taqueria is just more thing that makes staying in the Makati area worth it.
