Review | New Moon Bar ★★★★★
The New Moon Bar, located in the Diamond subdivision, is an interesting little place. It’s located on a tiny ‘dead end’ street. It’s a dead end because the gate into housing area is guarded and closed entirely after a certain time. Anyway, this little street is like a mini red light district. There are just a handful of bars, but they all seem to have some extra stuff on the menu.
New Moon is really laid back. There is a pool table and lots of space to spread out. There are sports on the TV, and everyone in the bar feels to be a local expat that’s a regular in the place. Unlike other bars in the area or on Walking Street, it’s very low key. I’ve never had any of the women ask me to buy them a drink or bar fine them, nor have I heard them ask any other patroons. As I understand it, everyone is on the menu though, if that’s what you’re looking for. The ladies are all really nice and pleasant to talk to.
The bar is well stocked, though there’s nothing unique to try here. Just the standard stuff you’ll find around the Philippines. They also serve food, which was well made. I had a sausage and pepper sandwich that totally hit the spot.
The other things that’s a real stand out here are the prices; they are really fair. This is a huge rarity these days in Angeles City and something that is greatly appreciated. The owner, Geoffrey, is a solid guy who want to create a fun place to hand out.
