Hotel Review ｜ Marcosas Cottages Resort ★★★★★
Marcosas Cottages Resort, located right in the small beach-side town of Moalboal, is a fantastic find. the property rents out small bungalows, rather than rooms. Because of this, it’s super quiet and peaceful at night. It looks it mainly attracts families, as we mostly saw Korean and German families staying. The bungalows are spaced enough apart that you won’t ever hear others, even there are young, noisy children.
It’s actually located really close to the beach, if you take the ‘secret’ back-roads. Getting into the center of town with access to the most of the dive shops, bars, restaurants, etc. should be super quick.
This is a great hotel to stay at if…
- You want a place with some privacy
- You don’t want to break the bank
- You want something separated from the party scene
Do note that the staff leaves at 9pm, with only a night security guard on duty. You won’t have access to the main office, water cooler, or WiFi after that. Make sure you have all the amenities you need before that.
Dining at Marcosas Cottages Resort
Breakfast is complimentary at the Bistro Go Asian, which is nice. The staff does a good enough job, but don’t expect anything earth shattering. The pancakes are big and filling, can get a bit boring. It was nice for us to order two different things at breakfast and share them.
What’s really nice is the Bistro Go Asian doubles as a bar. There’s a great selection of cocktails on the menu, fair prices, and best of all they have a swim-up bar. Hardly anyone used the pool while we were there so we ended up spending a whole afternoon drinking in the pool.
They stop serving really early, at 9pm, so don’t plan on having your night here.
Would We Stay Again
Hell YES!
This place was great. It was a little slice of paradise. We loved that it was just far enough away the party people to peaceful, but close enough to access everything. You can also rent motorbikes right across the street, giving you greater access to the area.
