Review | Lighthouse ★★★★★
Lighthouse, which seems to have a few locations in Cebu City, is a nice upscale restaurant with a focus on traditional foods of the Central Visayas region. If you’re looking to try something like Cebu Lechon, this is a great place to go.
We decided to hit up Lighthouse for lunch on a Sunday and we’re quite shocked to discover that entire restaurant was empty.
Lighthouse? More Like Empty House!
This is a place that can hold something like 200 people, so we found it a little strange that it would this empty. It’s not like it’s in an area that doesn’t have any people. It’s in a strip mall and there were plenty of people shopping and eating at other places. In fact, not a single person came in while we there, which was well over an hour. Off topic, the strip mall is a great place to shop for souvenirs after you’re done eating. There’s a supermarket in the basement of the Gaisano Country Mall, which is a fantastic place to pick up local snack foods to bring home with you.
Since there were no patroons, we got a little worried that food wouldn’t be good, but everything was really tasty. We did the Cebu Lechon, which was amazing and more than enough for two. Most of the dishes here are family style, so either come hungry or be prepared to share.
Service was fast, and they even take credit cards, which is nice. The menu is huge, which is a bit of a pain as it takes a long time to sift through. Certainly this place is worth a visit if you find yourself in Cebu City. We would definitely dine here again.
