25 Seeds is the place to eat in Angeles City if you’re looking to eat traditional Filipino food in a formal setting. Dare I say it, it might rank as the best dining experience I had in the Philippines. By formal, think tables that don’t wobble and nice dining ware, not staff in suits.
Surprisingly, the online reviews for 25 Seeds are very mixed, so I decided to try them out for lunch. The restaurant is located off the street in a house, more like mansion, that looks residential. I wasn’t sure if I was in the right place at first. There is a very tiny sign out front, but you’d be forgiven for missing it. There’s no front entrance, so you need to enter through a side door and head up some stairs to the second floor. The place looked closed when I arrived, as it was totally empty.
I ordering garlic rice, crispy pork belly, and a mango smoothie. Service was fast and polite, but the food was the real stand out here. The presentation was colorful, portioned generously, and the taste was exquisite. The only thing that was disappointing was that I wasn’t with anyone to share the experience with.
If there’s one reason to visit Angeles City, it’s to eat here. Frankly, the number of poor reviews this restaurant has garnered online is shocking and really quite baffling. I really can’t even begin to understand how that has happened.
